Our History
Welcome to Southside United Methodist Church! We are glad that you have found us on the web. May God's grace be with you as you continue on your spiritual journey.
We are a United Methodist Congregation connected through the Mountain Lakes District of the North Alabama Conference of the UMC. We have been part of the Methodist movement for over a hundred years in the Southside area, first off of Green Valley Road; later on Highway 77; in 2001, we moved into our current facility on Cedar Bend Road North.
On January 3, 2011, we began the New Beginnings Academy, our new daycare ministry, nurturing and educating God's children academically and spiritually in Southside and the surrounding area.
We are a congregation who is reaching in to create a culture in which disciples of Jesus Christ can be formed; reaching up to Know Christ through our prayer, study, worship and; reaching out to Make Christ Known in the Greater Etowah County area of Alabama.
